A Good Soldier of Christ Jesus Hebrews 12:1-3 2 Timothy 2:4 |
Our last night of VBS began at the Potts Park Ball Diamond with a traditional hot dog supper and all the trimmings. Biblical scriptures and stories followed with a discussion about how God expects us to act and react in sports activities as Christians. The evening continued with singing of VBS songs and starting a lively game of softball with the National Anthem. A 16-inch ball was used, so no gloves were required. VBS participants and helpers of all ages enjoyed the ball game. It was an evening full of learning, fun and excitement. Many participants commented that it was the best VBS yet. To God be the glory! |

From Hebrews 12: 1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such hostility against himself from sinners so that you may not grow weary or lose heart. From 2 Timothy 2:4 No one serving in the army gets entangled in everyday affairs; the soldier's aim is to please the enlisting officer. |
